1. SHORT-TERM VACATION COURSES
throughout the school years for selected students.

Training being intended for school students is known by the name Mini Master Training and Master Training (depending upon the age group). Mini Master Training and Master Training are at present restricted to the districts of Calicut and Malappuram for reasons of practical consideration.

2. ONE-YEAR, FULL TIME FOUNDATIONAL COURSE for students who have completed the plus-two stage and are at the threshold of a graduate programme.

3. EXAM PREPARATION for Civil Services Examination

From January, 2009 START has additionally taken up the ambitious programme of coaching Graduates and Postgraduate students for entry into the Nation’s Premier Civil Services through the prestigious Civil Services Examination conducted annually by the Union Public Service Commission.

Coaching for the Civil Services Examination has been envisaged in three stages.

Stage I
The first stage consists of a programme of familiarization intended to help candidates to select two optionals suited to their aptitude and affinity, while at the same time giving them a strong grounding in General Studies. There will be weekly lecture classes on all Saturdays and Sundays (total 10 hours a week) for a period of 4 months, commencing from January and closing in May.

Stage II
Candidates with potential to take up coaching for Mains will be able to join the IInd stage commencing in June. This will be an advanced programme of training with weekly classes on Saturdays and Sundays and it will be for the duration of one year from June to May. All subjects, including General Studies and selected Optionals will be covered in depth during this intensive stage of training.

Stage III

The third and final stage will be for a period of 4 months from June to September (both months included) and will be devoted to specialized training in Essay Writing, Group Discussion, Interview practices and model Tests in respective subjects for candidates offering different optional papers. The entire programme will therefore, be for a period of 20 months (Feb  to Sept) at the end of which candidates who have cleared the Prelims in May, can confidently take up the Mains Examination in the month of October every year
