Infrastructure

START is located on a sprawling campus in sylvan surroundings alongside the new bypass passing through Calicut city between Thondayad and Malapparamba junctions and is easily accessible from Railway Station and City bus stand.

START building is a two floor concrete building with a total floor area of 30000 sq. ft; owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Thamarassery. There are 4 class rooms with a sitting capacity of 60 persons each. There are also two lecture halls with a sitting capacity of 200 persons each. We have an LCD projector, 2 mike systems and internet facilities as teaching aids. Besides, photocopies and handouts of leaflets like Right to Information, Fundamental Rights, Right to Education, Present Economic Crisis, Food Security etc are Periodically provided to the students as study materials.
 

LIBRARY & COMPUTERS

A well stacked library with nearly 2000 valuable books and 20 computers with broadband facility are already in use and are in the process of continuous up gradation. Subject wise number of books is as follows: Economics 200; History 100; Law and legal studies 140; Logical Reasoning 40; English 120; Personality Development 50; Psychology 30; Sociology 45; English Literature 280; Malayalam 205 etc. A large number of national and international journals and competition magazines from all across India are being regularly subscribed. Information on careers, competitions and examinations is constantly updated and trainees are given exposure to the latest trends and opportunities in employment and training.

HOSTEL

Being a residential programme, the one year Foundation course offers dormitory accommodation to boys in the institution’s premises and girls are accommodated in the adjoining hostel ‘Home of Love’ run by Kristu Dasi Sisters. Both hostels have messing facilities at reasonable rates and provide adequate space for indoor and outdoor games. The campus having been newly established is fast developing and will be fully equipped with modern facilities of a regular educational institution in the near future.
